You can also click on the desktop icon on your Windows 8 Start Screen, and this will bring you into the Windows 8 desktop. Users must be aware that apps that are downloaded and installed on Windows 8 start screen will not be installed on your Windows 8 desktop. The apps that are downloaded from the Windows 8 store are designed specifically to work with the new Windows 8 UI and do not correlate to desktop applications. If you would like to add the same apps to your Windows 8 desktop, you must download and install them in the traditional way, like installing applications to your Windows 7 desktop.

Furthermore, you may not be able to access all the tiles that you need, because they can be extended horizontally beyond the screen. Movement around the screen requires moving from left to right and vice versa.

So in this case maybe is good solution to pin tiles on Start screen.

To Pin the Tile

  1. Go to Start Screen. Right click anywhere and All application bar will appear. Click All Apps button.
  2. Right click on the Application which you need to pin to the Start Screen.
  3. Click on the Pin to Start which appears on the bottom bar.

How To Unpin Tiles

  1. Go to the Start Screen ( See Upper in the post How to go to the Start screen and more details about the Start screen).
  2. Right click on the tile which you need to remove and click on the Unpin from start which is display on the bottom bar.
