Google Translate app for iPhone and iPad

Google announced Google translate application for iPhone ( besides other useful  iOS applications ) which has several innovations unlike HTML5 version of Google Translate web site which was used until now by iPhone and iPad users. Google already has its powerful service Google translate for Computer users, as well as Goolge translate service integrated with Chrome for Android. One innovation in the application is possibility to enter data translation with speech, by speaking to the application, in addition to the standard method by typing the words. For now, the application is limited to 15 languages in which you can enter data by speaking, but which can then be translated into 57 languages. Also, you can hear a translation in 23 languages.

We all know how linguists are skeptical when it comes to Google Translate, and further more because of the results that appear when you talk directly to the application . Therefore , be prepared for less than perfect results.

The application also has the option to show the result of the screen , allowing you to easily interact with the speaker. There is an opportunity to get a phonetic words in alphabet written in words of non-alphabets , to know how to read . Also you have an explanation for some of the vocabulary words , and very important – the history are stored of your translations , so you can access it when you are not online.

Overall, an excellent and useful application. The application is free and you can download it here.
